EDITORIAL: Jamie Dryden’s hair skulls are created using discarded hair from his salon floor

Hair Skulls: Jamie Dryden
Photography: Mark Hamilton

New Zealand hairdresser Jamie Dryden has a very creative way of recycling hair waste at his eco-friendly hair salon Fabrik – transforming it into colourful sculptures. Over the years, the skull motif has been at the forefront of Fabrik’s creative identity – and Dryden’s hair skulls have graced the runway at New Zealand Fashion Week, been mailed all over the globe as a gift to their favourite crimpers, and showcased in many photoshoots. Here we share Dryden’s most recent works, created in celebration of a salon milestone – Fabrik’s 13th birthday.
