“Beauty has no set limits, there is no prescribed recipe.”
Today we are lucky to witness these changes towards how beauty is perceived and in the breaking of its stereotypes. Albinism is beautiful and unique, yet still misunderstood. For many reasons albinism can be seen as a very unique condition. Its uniqueness, however, may lead to separateness and isolation for many people. Childhood, teenage years, everyday life, and self-esteem are all deeply influenced by society’s attitude and may be further impacted by a lack of social acceptance and understanding. Social attitudes toward albinism are often similar to those experienced by other disability and minority groups. These may include a lack of understanding, fear of the unknown, and prejudice based on appearance. It is important to share experiences and increase awareness to break the prejudicial boundaries.
