At a time where individuality and diversity are supposedly the mantra, it’s still the same few lookalikes who keep trending. “I created the wigs taking inspiration from the glam rock era and mangas, both melting pots of gender fluidity and strong individuality.” Using liquid latex  Fabio D’Onofrio painted superhero-esque masks as a comment on celebrated social facades which in the end are still just that, facades. “A wig can easily be put on and off and dramatically change your appearance and the perception others have of you. As an artist I feel the urge to challenge the limits of gendered aesthetic and break those standards by creating imagery that teases the mind into different ways of thinking.”
