Kid Bronze is the self-taught hairstylist who is responsible for turning his friends into the skater crew with the freshest ‘dos in all of Los Angeles. Some of the recurring graphics he hand paints include spiderwebs, skulls, and animal print in a technicolour spectrum of dyes, bridging LA skater style with Dennis Rodman energy. Although he never underwent any formal training, talent plus years of trial and error have evolved Kid Bronze into a skilled hairstylist whose crisp and raw works are increasingly gathering momentum online — watch this space.

Have you always been creative growing up? Yeah I’ve always been creative from what I remember, when I was 5 years old I would draw cars and cartoonish faces. I was also a graffiti artist in high school, and that helped my creativity get to another level.

When did you start doing hair? How did you get into it? I started doing hair in 2015, I remember cutting all my friends’ hair at first… The haircuts were horrible, but as the years went on the hairstyles started getting crazier and cooler. I was always into making people’s appearances look cooler than what they already looked like. I feel like there’s always room for improvement, in anything.

What are some of your favourite sources of inspiration that aren’t hair-related? My inspirations would definitely be my parents, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Paul Rodriguez, and Selena Quintanilla.

Describe your hairstyling style in three words. Crazy, sexy, and cool.

Trailblazer, the skate film made by 10C41 was incredible. What are you guys planning on doing next? We’re dropping a VHS video called “Middle School” and an HD video before the year ends. We also want to put out more content, maybe a movie or a TV show very soon.
