ART + CULTURE: A hairy alphabet by designer Monique Goossens

Artwork: Monique Goossens
Words: Emma de Clercq

Dutch designer Monique Goossens has created a hirsute alphabet by teasing hair into the shapes of single letters and photographing them. Using a variety of different hair types and colours, Monique tries not to manipulate the hair too heavily, preferring to be led by its inherent qualities. “I follow the natural characteristics of the hair”, she says.
