EDITORIAL: Graffiti-painted wig art by Josh Mascolo forms the starting point for this kaleidoscopic series shot by Anthony Mascolo

In Chrysalis, the creative craft of hairdressing is embodied in painterly form. Presented as a series of expressive ‘paintings’, the starting point for the story is the kaleidoscopic graffiti art of Josh Mascolo, a young hairdresser whose work spans across the mediums of hairdressing, street art and clothing design. Here, his series of hand-painted, graphic wigs are styled by Anthony Mascolo and Akos Bodi, before photographer Panos Damaskinidis adds the finishing touches by enveloping the figure in dynamic brushstrokes of light, instilling the final images with an otherworldly hue.
