PAST ISSUES: ISSUE 2 (sold out) presents photo-essays, fashion editorials, artworks and interviews, which explore hair across creative disciplines. With some incredible contributors on board, you’ll find conversations with hair creatives including industry legend Trevor Sorbie and New York hair artist Bob Recine, as well as many of today’s rising stars in the industry, including salon owners, colourists, barbers and session workers. Exploring the cultural impact of hair, INFRINGE spoke to designer Sanne Visser, who creates cutting edge products out of discarded hair, and met anthropologist Emma Tarlo, whose latest book delves into the fascinating, mostly hidden world of the human hair trade. For this issue INFRINGE travelled extensively to capture stories, the highlight being a visit to Tokyo, where the team observed and documented rare and fascinating hair rituals.

PAST ISSUES: ISSUE 1 (sold out) presents photo-essays, fashion editorials, artworks and interviews, which explore hair across creative disciplines. We meet the hairdressers, barbers and wigmakers whose livelihoods depend upon this fibre. We delve into the works of photographers documenting cultural practices involving hair across the globe. We listen to the artists, activists and writers who challenge perceptions of hair and reveal how reflective it is of our often contradictory beauty ideals. Hair taboos are examined – why is it that some hair is deemed desirable, some repulsive? Ever-growing, hair denotes life, as well as being the final physical remnant that survives us after death. Hair can be a poignant memento, a statement, a medium for craft and much more. Brought to you by Anthony and Pat Mascolo, INFRINGE is the Anthropology of Hair.
